Melanie Kurzawa M.S. OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Melanie has always had a strong passion for serving individuals with various needs and abilities. She is a graduate from Loyola University Chicago with her bachelor’s in Psychology and earned her master’s of science in Occupational Therapy from Lewis University. Melanie has experience serving youth, young adults, and adults with developmental, intellectual, mental, social-emotional, and physical differences in the recreational, school-based, and clinical outpatient settings. She specializes and has interests in sensory integration, DIR/floortime, emotional regulation, mindfulness, environmental modification, feeding, executive functioning, and autism spectrum disorder.

Melanie values and strives to utilize a holistic, play-based approach in her therapy sessions, and collaborates with families to support their overall well-being and engagement in their child’s developmental journey. She admires and dedicates her daily life to holistic heath and wellness and is eager to share her knowledge and expertise with families to best support both the child and family in their daily life and routines. When Melanie is not in the field, she enjoys practicing yoga, dancing, thrifting, crafting, cooking, and riding her bike throughout the city of Chicago. In her free time, she also loves to lead holistic self-care workshops to encourage her community to align their physical, mental, and spiritual health.
